The tasks of an electronics technician for automation technology comprise the use of testing software and diagnostic systems, the optimization of control circuits, the installation, integration, and maintenance (including fault analysis and fault diagnosis in case of malfunctions) of automation systems; this is only a small part of a wide range of assignments. Modern automation plants are used in the chemical industry to manufacture various products in electronically controlled processes. In the process, the observance of preset values like temperature, pressure, or flow rates are decisive to guarantee a high-quality, environmentally sound, and safe production.
