Transport only in closed and clean wagons or trucks. ALZON® liquid should be stored in unpressurised tanks made of stainless steel, plastic, aluminium or lined concrete, and not in tanks made of copper- or zinc-containing materials.
If the temperature drops below 17 °C, crystals can precipitate from the solution; however, they redissolve when the temperature increases again. If the solution is then intensively stirred or circulated, the serviceability of ALZON® liquid is fully restored.
Storage tanks must be labelled with "Hazardous Substances Ordinance - Fertiliser containing ammonium nitrate - Class DI". Density:
1.28 g/cm3.
Further information on storage is given in our brochure "Safe storage of PIASAN® 28 and ALZON® liquid".
ALZON® liquid is classified as water hazard class 1 (weakly hazardous to water). Do not allow the product to enter bodies of water, groundwater, or the canalisation system. Protect it against being contaminated; prevent it from drying out. When handling ALZON® liquid, the TRGS 511 (Technical Rules for Hazardous Substances) must be observed. The product corresponds to Group DI - non-hazardous in aqueous solutions, but potentially explosive in the crystalline state.
Salt crusts can decompose above 130 °C with formation of a toxic and caustic gas.
Before working with flames and hot objects, remove residual amounts by rinsing with water and obtain written permission from the client or employer. Pumps must not cause any dangerous reactions.
