SKW Stickstoffwerke Piesteritz GmbH

SKW Piesteritz has been developing competence and expertise for almost 100 years.
Today, SKW Stickstoffwerke Piesteritz GmbH is the largest producer of ammonia and urea in Germany, with a product range including a wide variety of specialised agrochemical and industrial chemical products.

Piesteritz has been a site of chemical industry since 1915. This enables SKW Stickstoffwerke Piesteritz GmbH to draw on expertise that stems from almost 100 years of research and development, even though SKW in its current corporate form has only been founded in 1993.

We are a major producer of nitrogen fertilisers for the European agricultural chemistry. We also supply basic chemicals for the industrial chemistry, such as ammonia, urea and nitric acid. Our state-of-the-art production facilities enable us to consistently enhance products for our customers. Additionally, our research department is one of the largest among medium-sized chemical companies. The agricultural application research facility in Cunnersdorf in particular is internationally recognised at the highest level.

SKW Piesteritz has over 850 employees in both Lutherstadt Wittenberg and Cunnersdorf near Leipzig. More than 60 of them work in chemical research, agricultural application research and analytics.
